A fresh new semester calls for a fresh, new batch of TV shows for everyone to enjoy. There are over 23 new shows starting this fall, and many of them seem very promising and enjoyable.
From ABC’s “Nashville” to “The Mindy Project” on FOX, it seems like there is something for all viewers. There are shows about a nuclear submarine (“The Last Resort”) and a family living in a neighborhood of aliens (“The New Neighbors”), both on ABC. However, some Roosevelt students said they are looking forward to watching their old favorite shows rather than checking out the new ones.
Roosevelt student Danny Lin hosts WBRC radio show’s “Happy Hour”. He said there are only a few TV shows he really watches.
“I can’t wait for the next season of ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘How I Met Your Mother,’” he said.
Roosevelt undergrad and SGA treasurer Lana Grbic said she doesn’t watch too much television, but does occasionally enjoy “Glee”.
Chris Vittoe is the station director of WRBC, Roosevelt’s Internet radio station.
“The only new show I am looking forward to this week is ‘Revolution’ because it has a futuristic twist to it,” he said.
Aside from that, Chris is waiting for new episodes of “Dr. Who”.
So what are the best shows? Could be too soon tell. Until then there’s still the oldies, but goodies. For instance, Britney Spears has joined the panel on the new season of “The X Factor” on Fox.
That leaves the questions on if the ongoing efforts of celebrity add-ons make a show better. And if so, if students will continue to stay glued to the TV in between studying time. While networks remain in competition with social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter, YouTube and Netflix are new TV networks that give students quick and accessible entertainment.
Looks like students will have to find the time to check out these new shows and decide themselves what is good and what’s worth watching.
